The Gospel of Jesus Christ.
The word gospel means “good news”.
So what is the good news of Jesus Christ?
First know that everybody is responsible for their moral failures, big and small. Every moral failure (also known as sin) will be punished without exception. This should make the average person uneasy or even afraid.
If I stood before a fair judge, I should not expect to get away with anything. The same is true if you stood before the Judge of the Universe. It would be ridiculous to believe that a good and fair judge would allow everyone to get away with everything. This will not happen because nobody is, or will be, above the law.
So, what’s the good news?
The good news is what God has done in Jesus Christ. Because of God’s great love for humanity, God sent and allowed His only Son to be tortured, suffer and to be put to death to pay the penalty for our sin and moral failures. Jesus Christ became our substitute.
His physical and spiritual suffering was a sacrifice and is a payment for our sins. Humiliation, guilt and shame, pain and punishment … He took on Himself so that we might be saved.
He paid our debt He did not owe … out of love for you and me.
Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends
(John 15:13 NIV).
Yet, the whole world will not be saved. Many will reject this free gift of salvation and its eternal benefits.
Here is the rest of the good news for you and me.
Jesus said if we acknowledge Him as our Savior (the only one who can save us from the pending judgement for our wrong doings) … and if we acknowledge Jesus Christ as our boss (LORD), then we will be saved!
This is good news. This is GREAT NEWS!
Yes, it is that simple. By trusting in the person of Jesus and what he did (through His death on the cross and His glorious resurrection from the dead), we will be saved. We will be made clean and forgiven before the Judge of the Universe. There is no greater news!
Now we will live with God as His newly adopted sons & daughters!
We become family … forever… never to fear eternal punishment.
In the family of God, we are accepted, embraced, empowered, and blessed by the Holy Spirit dwelling in our hearts forever.
With the Holy Spirit as our teacher and comforter,
we will mature as sons and daughters of God.
We will experience transformation
and a growing friendship with God through trials and many blessings.
Call on the LORD. Pray to the LORD right now to forgive you … to save you.
Anyone who calls on the name of the Lord, will be saved! (Romans 10:13)
Did you call on the name of the Lord?
If so, welcome to the family of God!!!
Tell somebody that you have become a Christian
by believing the good news of Jesus Christ.
Find a group, a church, and friends who love God.
They will support you, love you
and help you grow as a child of the Most High God!
